Cave
Cave
Early autumn found me
Lost in the woods
Years of familiarity
Erased
Whispers from the trees
Guided me
Along badger paths
And fox runs
To a new destination
The reward for following the whispers
A small cave
Dressed in ferns
Invited me in
Breath rising in clouds
Roiling
Coiling
Curling
In the warm evening air
Alive
All possibility
Dimpsey time come early
Inside these walls
Icy water filtering down
To pool on the floor
Overspilling
Joining the beck
To dance over pebbles
Singing watery songs
Meandering down the valley
Showing me my path
Back home
